UPDATES AND UPCOMING EVENTS
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OUR FELLOW PILGRIMS!
Saturday, January 10th, 2026: We are skipping the first Saturday due to the New Year’s holiday, so meeting the SECOND Saturday, January 10th for our regular monthly meeting. We will start at 9:30am as usual with coffee & donuts, followed by a presentation on the final 2025 Camino Statistics from the Pilgrim Office in Santiago. (Note that as of this writing, more pilgrims have already received compostelas than in all of 2024, so we already know 2025 is another record year for the Camino!) We will also have a panel discussion about choosing which Camino route to walk in 2026! About 10:30am we will depart for our beach walk down to Oceano and back. Those who wish can join us for lunch at Old Juan’s in Oceano, with earlier turnarounds available for those looking for a shorter walk.
Sunday, January 18th, 2026: Looking for a good 2026 training walk? Plan to join our friends at the California Mission Walkers for their Anza 250 walk from Grover Beach to Old Mission SLO. More details to follow.
Monday, January 25th, 2026: Mark your calendars for a very special evening with nationally renowned authors and speakers Sandy Brown and Dave Whitson. The topic of their presentation is: “The Camino de Santiago and the Resurgence of Pilgrimage”. More info to follow.
